Looking for an exciting (and potentially lucrative) career path? Now, more than ever, you should be considering a career in finance and FinTech (that is, computer and tech-based professions related to banking and financial services). To find out why, you need to follow the money…
Canada, for example, now has a Strategic Innovation Fund, a $1.26 billion investment aimed at creating technology “ecosystems,” which bring together startups, venture capitalists, universities, and banks. This, in many ways, is a reaction to global trends. According to an Accenture study, 2015 investment in global fintech startups (those competing with banks) increased by 23 per cent, while investments in “collaborative” fintech companies (ones that work with banks) increased by 138 per cent over the same period. All of which bodes very well for career prospects in finance.
But you don’t have to wait for some far-off day in the future to get started. These six financial companies are right now hiring like crazy, from coast to coast.
