Canada’s best places to work for 2015

Google is Canada’s best place to work according to Glassdoor’s seventh annual Employee’s Choice Awards.
The company review site’s list honours the Best Places to Work in the U.S. – and 30 of the 50 greatest employers have offices in Canada, including search giant Google, which tops the list for the first time this year, having moved up from No. 8. The full list is below, with the list of companies with Canadian offices below that.
Bain & Company, a global management consulting firm, drops from first to second place, while Twitter, which held the No. 2 spot last year has dropped off the list entirely. Nestle Purina Petcare (no Canadian office), F5 Networks, and Boston Consulting Group round out the top five.
The rankings are based on the input of employees who anonymously provide feedback, via the Glassdoor company review survey. Winners are ranked according to their overall company rating achieved during the past year. (Ratings are based on a 5-point scale.)
What are employees saying?
One Google employee in Waterloo, Ontario, says, “This company has a good work/life balance and provides learning opportunities internally. Maybe a pity is that time is too short to consume what the company provides you with every day.”
And a former Bain & Company employee says, “Great mentorship and focus on professional development. Everyone you work [with] genuinely wants you to do well. They invest a lot in you for training. Great people and culture. Particularly in the Toronto office, it feels very close-knit.”
