Ten hot job titles to watch for rising salaries in 2016 [Infographic]

Our friends at Robert Half are predicting that Canadian starting salaries for professional roles will go up by 3.4% next year.
The staffing firm has just released its annual salary guides forecasting salary ranges and hiring trends for 2016. Not all fields can expect equally generous increases next year. Hiring in the technology sector remains red hot, resulting in the greatest salary boosts predicted for tech workers.
Robert Half is expecting base salaries for technology jobs to jump by an average of 5% next year. Data scientists will see the highest starting salary increase of all positions, with projected starting compensation levels rising 8.5%.
Accounting and finance are predicted to see the next largest gains, with anticipated average pay boosts of 4%. Workers in the creative industry fare the worst with their average base pay only expected to rise by just over 2% in 2016.
“Attracting and maintaining skilled professionals continues to be a priority for Canadian organizations as the competition for top talent heats up,” said Greg Scileppi, president of Robert Half, International Staffing Operations. “We are seeing this notably in the technology areas of big data and mobile application development, while in finance and accounting, general accounting and business analysis skills continue to be in particularly high demand.”
